Bernie Feltman General Awesome catch!! 1/3/2010 1:17:03 AM
Jacob Nelson General This is not a SD45-2 as you can see above the front truck, it is a SD40-2R 4/14/2011 1:25:19 PM
David H. Anderson General Funny, I don't recall EMD ever making an SD40-2R! There has been no changes to the body. Regardless of what the Railroad wants to call it this week, it is still an SD45-2. 4/20/2011 9:30:19 PM
Thomas Rousseau General This is an SD40-2R. It was rebuilt by ATSF and reclassed from the original EMD classification. Although it may have started it's life as an SD45-2, it has very little identification as an SD45-2 since it was derated and rebuilt with new dash-2 electronics and modifications to the prime mover and body structure. 4/26/2011 2:07:20 PM
Matt Hagfors General it is indead an SD-40 the 20 cylinder engine is long gone and now has a 16 cylinder engine. the "body" has nothing to do with the designation. 7/16/2011 10:48:34 PM
